Special Category Winners

Categorical winners were honored with a plaque and Grand Prize winners were given a plaque and $1,000.  Teachers of all winners received a 10 month subscription to Discovery Education streaming, a one-year membership to Computer-Using Educators (CUE) (current memberships were extended by one calendar year). Teachers of Grand Prize winners will also be given one complimentary registration to the Annual CUE Conference in Palm Springs.

All awards were given at one of the Festival locations on May 31st - one Festival was in northern California and one in southern California. (NOTE: There will be a total of four Grand Prize winners with each of these schools winning $1,000 and the CUE Conference Registration: one elementary and one secondary for the Video division and one elementary and one secondary for the Multimedia division.)

Mission

The Festival strongly encourages project-based learning and meaningful student work in media and multimedia and exists to acknowledge and reward successful classroom work.
The Festival believes that...

  • students are capable of extremely high level work, beginning at very early grades
  • media and multimedia are excellent tools for students
  • video and multimedia should be integrated into the regular subject-area curriculum
  • rewarding exemplary work and good school programs encourages more of both.
